STAGE FRIGHT - UK PREMIERE

Aardman Animation's latest short film (11mins), STAGE FRIGHT received its UK premiere at The London Film Festival on Wednesday 19th November at the prestigious Odeon Leicester Square. STAGE FRIGHT was written and directed by Steve Box, otherwise known as Nick Park's key character animator. Nick has always acknowledged how much Steve contributed to the Wallace and Gromit films. Steve animated Feathers McGraw in The Wrong Trousers and Wendolene in A Close Shave. Graham Fellows (aka John Shuttleworth) voices all the characters.

Whilst STAGE FRIGHT is immediately identifiable as an 'Aardman' film (Plasticine-character animation) it couldn't be further from the world of Wallace and Gromit. The film is set in England in the early part of this century when music hall was being replaced by cinema. Tiny, the Dog Juggler's problems are compounded when movie star Arnold Hew steals Tiny's Chihuahuas to boost his film career. Told in flashback - good, evil and eternal damnation all play a part in this action packed melodrama.

Stage Fright was completed in August and the London Film Festival was its first UK public screening. Stage Fright is an Aardman Animations Production for Channel Four Television.
