BT's Touchpoint project saw a number of networked interactive kiosks sited throughout London from late 1996. They offered the public a variety of services including shopping, travel, horoscopes, health guides, news, sport and entertainment. Having worked on the launch sites in the past, BT asked Telepathy to design and produce two of the new content Channels which went live in Autumn 97.
The first of these was Sonic Central. Hosted by Kylie Minogue, this is the high profile Music channel that gives users up-to-date info on gigs, charts and gossip. Telepathy designed and produced an interface design and programme structure plus a fast drum & base audio track to lead users around the application. Content is updated weekly, with new audio clips and background graphics on the resident CD being changed each month.
